What's Next?

We have hopes and plans.

The best way to stay up-to-date is to join the Life Advocates Facebook group.  HERE.

Also, we have ongoing conversations, updated information about the CME Planned Parenthood-Stem Express videos, and lots of photographs and cool video from the protest at our Facebook Event Page.  HERE.

If you are not on Facebook, great. Maybe you could follow this blog, and if I get more people, I'll be diligent to post essential information.

Lastly, for now. Please consider joining in the national 40 Days for Life campaign of prayer, fasting, and witness, which in Asheville will take place at the local Planned Parenthood abortion site, 68 McDowell ST, 28801. The dates are September 23 - November 1, 2015. The campaign will begin with a kick-off rally, time and place to be announced later. For more information and to register at the official site, go HERE.

Wear RED

...to the protest.

Here is what I am giving out to our people on the days of the protest:

Dear Friends,

Thank you for joining our protest against PLANNED PARENTHOOD today.  The name of that organization sounds friendly and nice, but people soon discover it’s synonymous with deception and death.  We are here to represent truth and life.

To help us to do so, I have outlined a Code of Conduct that I request for people to follow.

1. Treat others with respect.

2. Related to the above, don’t talk to people who ask you to leave them alone.

3. Please do not yell to the people in the parking lot of Planned Parenthood.  We have designated “sidewalk counselors” who speak to the women and men coming for abortion.  (In our experience it’s a waste of time trying to talk to the pink-vested abortion escorts.) Also, leave about a 15 foot buffer on both sides of the driveways.

4. Don’t defend the signs.  If someone tears up yours, take pictures of the person doing so, and call 911.  Of course you may defend people.

5. Be safe.  Keep your young children under control!  McDowell especially and Choctaw are busy streets.  Watch the children of others.  For a safe option, families with active children can stand on the sidewalk on Frederick Street, west and back of Planned Parenthood.  It’s off Choctaw.

6. Don’t bunch up on the sidewalk.  Allow room for people to walk by.  Spreading out a little will allow your signs to make more impact.  Don’t stand in the road.

7. Be open to talking with Planned Parenthood/abortion supporters who are likewise open to calm discussion.  If someone is shouting at you, however, or expressing hostility or contempt in some way, just leave them alone.  Pray.

This isn’t part of a Code of Conduct, but please, if you will, give us your contact information.  If we do something like this protest again, we’d like to reach you. Tear off the bottom of this sheet and print your name, address and e-mail address.  Include a phone number, if you wish.

Thanks so much.

For Immediate Release:

August 22 Protest at the Asheville Planned Parenthood Part of Nationwide #ProtestPP
Abuse of public trust, baby body-part trafficking and cover-up leads to a widespread demand for government de-funding of Planned Parenthood.

Asheville, North Carolina, August 12, 2015 — In response to recent admissions by Planned Parenthood officials about its practice of harvesting and selling aborted baby parts, Life Advocates and concerned citizens of Asheville are protesting at the Planned Parenthood facility at 68 McDowell St, Asheville, NC on August 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This effort is part of a National Day of Protest taking place at hundreds of Planned Parenthood offices and abortion facilities to raise awareness about their trafficking of baby parts.(See: www.ProtestPP.com.)

The ProtestPP.com coalition is sponsored by 50 state and national pro-life groups. The event is scheduled for more than 200 locations, including Asheville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, and Winston-Salem in North Carolina, as well as in Columbia, South Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee. Several states have initiated investigations of Planned Parenthood, and recent legislation has been introduced in Congress to defund the abortion giant. Planned Parenthood currently receives over $500 million in taxpayer funding annually.

“The recent videos showing Planned Parenthood’s callous disregard for human lives have awakened us to the importance and urgency of defunding it," said Meredith Hunt, director of Life Advocates and long-time Asheville anti-abortion activist. "There is a lot of quiet prolife support in our region, and we’re hoping for people to come out now and say they don’t want their tax money going to this basically criminal, murderous organization anymore.”

Undercover videos (www.youtube.com/user/centerformedprogress) released by the Center for Medical Progress reveal that Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, with the sanction of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, are involved in the harvesting of body parts of preborn children who are aborted in their facilities, and in profiting from the sale, contrary to federal law. The videos show high-level Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the prices of fetal specimens. The videos also raise ethical questions about the exploitation of preborn children for financial gain and the risks to women’s health if abortion procedures are altered solely to procure more profitable baby parts.

"Time and time again, Planned Parenthood lies to us,” Matt Bradley, spokesman for the #ProtestPP event in Asheville said. “Now they’re caught in a scandal of selling aborted baby body parts. Every abortion produces two victims: the mother and the baby. The mother can suffer from depression, post traumatic stress, thoughts of suicide, and future premature deliveries. We need to protect all prenatal children and mothers from abortion. Everyone needs to write their representatives in Congress to demand that they defund Planned Parenthood.”

The Defund Planned Parenthood Protest

This car was parked in the employee section of Planned Parenthood for two weekends in a row. Perhaps another example of Planned Parenthood being a counterfeit help organization, and its people seriously disturbed and confused.
Friday August 21, 2015

Saturday August 22, 2015
8:30 - 11:30 am

The recent video revelations about Planned Parenthood’s callous disregard for human lives have awakened us to the importance and urgency of DEFUNDING this criminal, murderous organization.  Come join the NATIONAL protest against Planned Parenthood that’s taking place in 200 and more locations.

Planned Parenthood Asheville
68 McDowell Street, 28801
(at the corner of McDowell and Choctaw)

Full details about our local event will be posted here, but basically bring visible painted signs (like the one in the post below)  that say “DEFUND Planned Parenthood!”, “PP Kills Children”, “Abortion Hurts Women”, and “HONK for Life!”.  The latter sign helps passersby to join the protest.  We’ve been doing this for a few weeks now with an amazing response.

Sign up and comment on our Asheville FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE.  This will give us a better idea of how many people are coming.

Visit the website of the NATIONAL COORDINATING ORGANIZATION #ProtestPP for the event.

Go to the fledgling HonkforLife.org website to check out their resources that include bumper stickers and downloadable posters you can print.

Watch the full Planned Parenthood videos at the Center for Medical Progress's youtube channel.

I'll post more information as it comes in.  Spread the word.  Challenge Planned Parenthood's lies.  Write your congressman now and demand that he/she votes to defund PP.
